WSQ Courses

What grants am I eligible for?

If you are a Singaporean or a Permanent Resident (PR), you are eligible for one of three SkillsFuture Funding Grants. Your age and income level will determine which you are eligible for. Visit our funding page to understand more.

If you are a foreigner, you will not be eligible for any of the SkillsFuture Funding Grants.

Can I take the WSQ Higher Certificate Course without taking the WSQ Certificate Level first?

Yes, you may. Doing so however, will require taking a pre-admission assessment test with the school to ensure your current qualification/ability is suited to our advanced courses.

Is there a time frame to complete each course?

All of our courses (WSQ, JFAS) must be completed within 1 year. For exceptional circumstances, special arrangements can be made with the school on a case-by-case basis.

Can I still attend the courses if I cannot make it for some of the dates given?

A minimum of 75% attendance for every course module is necessary for completion. For students that are unable to commit to a full course schedule, students may elect to complete the courses on an individual unit basis, at a registration fee of $20 per unit.

What is the average class size?

Each WSQ Course batch progresses with a maximum of 12 trainees and a minimum of 6 trainees.

Are there any prerequisites for course enrolment?

The suggested entry requirements by SSG is a minimum of ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 3. Course books provided will be in English.

How long will make-up classes be?

Durations of any make-up classes will determined at the sole discretion of the school.

What if I am unable to attend a class I have already registered for?

Make-up lessons may be arranged for with the following administration fees:

First-time make-up: $40/module (waiveable with official medical certificate)

Subsequent make-up sessions: $40/module regardless of reason

The above charges are not applicable for COVID-related isolation orders, Health-Risk Warnings or similar, official orders from the Ministry of Health (MOH)

What if I need to defer from a course I have registered for entirely?

A deferment from a full WSQ course is chargeable at the following administration fees:

$40/full course

$20 for deferment of single modules.

Any waivers for the aforementioned deferments are solely at school's discretion.

JFAS Courses

Do funding grants apply to the JFAS courses?

No. The JFAS courses are separate from the WSQ framework and are not subsidised. Therefore, WSQ SkillsFuture Funding and SkillsFuture Credit are not applicable to the JFAS courses.

Are the classes conducted only in English?

Classes at June Floral are primarily conducted in English. However, course books for JFAS courses are written in both English and Mandarin. Our trainers are bilingual as well, and will be able to assist you accordingly in understanding the lessons.

What certifications are available for the JFAS courses?

Depending on the course selected, our attainable certifications include:

  • Basic Floral Design
  • Intermediate Floral Design
  • Advanced Floral Design
  • Professional Floral Design
  • Commercial Floral Design
  • Bridal Floral Design
  • American Floral Art School Academic

What is the average class size?

Most JFAS courses are conducted on a one-to-one coaching basis. For group lessons numbering more than 6 candidates, 2 instructors will be assigned.

Are there any prerequisites for course enrolment?

Basic reading, writing and speaking skills in English or Mandarin. If you do not have any prior experience in floristry, the Basic Course must be completed before you may attend the other courses. The only exceptions to this rule are the following JFAS courses:

  • Bridal Course
  • Hand Bouquet Course

If I misplace my WSQ/JFAS Course Certificates, will the school be able to issue me a replacement?

The school will not issue any replacement certificates if lost. We will however, provide an official letter to certify your achieved qualifications.

From 3 November 2014 onwards, only electronic certificates (e-certs) are issued for completed WSQ competency modules. Each comes with a unique e-cert serial number issued upon successful completion of the competency unit. Candidates may log on to SkillsConnect to download and print their e-Certificates.

Are refresher courses provided for students who have already graduated?

Yes. As a JFAS Graduate, no school fees will be involved for refresher courses: you will only need to bear all material costs incurred, depending on the content.

Does the school provide any job placements?

Job opening notices from florists and relevant organisations are available at our school for reference. Teaching careers with us are also an option, depending on several factors. Do schedule a direct enquiry with us, if interested.

Do I have to pay for additional material cost after paying the course fees?

No. The nett course fees include all materials fee required. However, if you wish to purchase any additional floral materials for personal use, you may purchase it from the school at student rates.

Are there any instalment plans available for course fees?

No, there are no bank instalment plans available for all courses.

However, for the following JFAS Courses, the candidate may pay 50% of course fees at registration and the remaining 50% within a month of course commencement or the 10th lesson, whichever comes earlier:

  • Commercial Floral Design Course

  • Professional Diploma in Floral Design

General Procedure

Prior to official registration, our administration will also advise you on the of grant you will be eligible for based on your age, nationality, income details.

The above procedure should be completed at least two weeks to one month prior to course start date.

Pre-Admission Test

Candidates who wish to pursue intermediate and advanced learning with the school must provide documents or certifications to certify their prior experience in floristry. If they cannot, a pre-admission test will be administered at a cost of S$60.

The test is a 1hr 45min test that comprises three components:

  • 15min Written test

  • 45min Table top arrangement practical

  • 45min Hand bouquet practical

If the candidate is deemed competent, the candidate may sign up for the course with the $60 Tools & Equipment fee waived off. The registration fee of $40 will still apply.


Should the candidate be assessed to be more suited for the WSQ Certificate in Floristry Operations, he/she may sign up but Registration & Tools & Equipment fee of $100 will apply. The pre-admission test fee of $60 is neither refundable nor deductible from the Certificate level course.
